Troubleshooting Guide

Most issues fall into a handful of causes. Find your symptom below for the fix. If you're still stuck, email support@fastlegal.in with a screenshot.

Connector shows “offline” / demo mode

The app can't see a live connector, so it's using the built-in mock Tally.

  • Make sure TallyConnector.exe is running on the Tally PC and signed in with the same account.
  • Confirm Tally is open with a company loaded.
  • Check Tally connectivity is on: acts as Both, port 9000 (see Connecting Tally).
  • Click Test connection on the Connector screen.

Connector online, but no company / “can't reach Tally”

  • The Port in the app must match Tally's ODBC port (default 9000). If you changed it in Tally, update it on the Connector screen and Save settings.
  • Another program may be using port 9000 — close it, or set a different port in both Tally and the app.
  • Use Companies → Discover from Tally to (re)list companies after opening the right one in Tally.

A voucher failed to post

  • “Ledger does not exist” — the entry maps to a ledger that isn't in Tally yet. Use the “create ledger & retry” button on the error, or create it in Tally and click Retry.
  • Date outside period — the voucher date falls in a period your Tally company hasn't been opened for. Adjust the books' start date in Tally, or the entry date.
  • Duplicate — the voucher was already posted. Posted rows are marked green; you can safely skip them.

Bank statement PDF didn't parse well

  • If the PDF is a scan/image, it has no text to read — download the Excel/CSV statement from net banking instead.
  • Password-protected PDF? Remove the password (open it and “print to PDF”) before uploading.
  • If a few rows look off, fix them inline on the review screen — the balance reconciliation banner points to any that don't add up.

GST amounts look wrong after a GST import

  • Check the inter/intra-state classification — it drives IGST vs CGST+SGST. It's inferred from the place-of-supply in the portal file.
  • Make sure your tax ledgers (Output/Input CGST/SGST/IGST) exist in Tally and are mapped.

“Free trial finished” — can't post

You've used all 100 free entries (there's no monthly reset). Your data, mappings and companies stay intact — buy an entry pack from Pricing to keep posting. Uploading and mapping remain free.

Can't sign in / forgot password

  • Use Forgot password on the login screen — a reset link is emailed to you.
  • The connector must be signed in with the same account you use in the browser.
